Section 3: Perceptions

Aims: This section explores the perceptions that many of us have about people and places and considers the implications of overly simplistic stereotypes for learning.

Global education partnerships encourage learners to critically reflect on their own attitudes and perceptions and to challenge idealised or negative perceptions of ‘other’ people and places. If there is an imbalance in partners’ perceptions of each other this can affect the equity of the relationship and the learning that takes place.
